BlueFACTORY and État Des Choses have joined up to host a unique series of artistic interventions. Five institutions and venues for current & actual music from Fribourg, as well as two essential electronic music institutions housed in BlueFactory have been invited to propose an enchanting journey into the silo.
Starting from the 13th of March until the 29th of April, these institutions will book week by week an event which will take place at the top of the silo of the old and long-abandoned Cardinal beer factory. The public will be able to win tickets through contests via our Social Media & newsletter, so make sure to follow us & subscribe to our mailing list !
This all started last year, when alternative culture amateurs & players decided to take this initiative. Since then, this project has been coordinated & organized by État Des Choses, a magazine & platform dedicated to reflections on contemporary artistic and social practices. With the complicity of blueFACTORY, this initiative was then presented to our partners and is now integrating institutions from all over the canton of Fribourg.
The goal of this project is to bring light upon extended culture, improve visiting culture and the culture of togetherness between different cultural actors through the opening to the public of the Silo, which will thus be exploited and used one last time before its renovation. We want to promote this space as a future unifying platform for the various actors in art and science research as well as an important cultural hub for Fribourg.
Several important cultural institutions in the region will then seize the opportunity to propose one event per week between March and April, in order to present a diverse artistic program, involving a multitude of mediums. This is the perfect occasion for the many players in the field to get together to exchange, create and share their passion and their vision of a strong and united cultural network. Tickets for the various events will be up for grabs via raffle contests posted on the Blue Hour Instagram page.
To be able to take part in those events, you’ll have to participate & win tickets for each session through our giveaways via Instagram. Subscribe to us, save our post & enable notifications so you don't miss anything !
Catherine Gaillard : The Cosmorgasm
A girl who is never afraid is scary, and a princess in search of love is annoying... Aliens with a disturbing charm, a seduced First Lady and the whole planet moaning... Forbidden islands, genetic mutations and an explorer who doesn't shy away...
Three kinky stories between tale, fantasy and science-fiction, to have fun with conventions and transgress some taboos!
Fruit of a joyful collaboration, this show follows the tradition of the naughty tale. Both satirical and suggestive, it questions our current society, torn between a conformist morality and a growing curiosity for disturbing love stories. Through their narratives, the two authors offer us a sparkling and burlesque look that shakes up some norms and certainties by blurring the cards of gender identities.
Hilke, Reymour, COS
Let yourself be enchanted or carried away by wonderful souls, voices and sounds, pleasantly arranged. The evening begins with Hilke: listen to how fragility and self-confidence complement each other.
This is followed by Lou and Luc from Reymour visiting homeland, let's have romantic drinks together on the top of the tower. COS calls herself a sentimental witch, will she captivate you in the end with her tunes for outsiders?
Zeela & The Gang, LePhar
Ébullition offers you an evening « made in Fribourg city »: for the occasion, Zeela will prepare us a crazy showcase, inviting all of his crew consisting of artists with whom he collaborates. A stroll onto styles, genres and grooves where he reserves a couple little surprises!
LePhar will close up the night by his electro efficacy, to echos sometimes jazzy, sometimes hip-hop, tinted by the inebriating synth layers, and enriched by the delicate sound of his piano.
Marc Méan (in relation with the International Piano Day)
Marc Méan is a Swiss pianist currently living in Zurich. For years, he has been active on the Swiss and international music scene with bands of various musical styles: from minimal jazz of his trio Fields to the psychedelic rock of the group Service Fun, passing by the zulu jazz of Mats-Up or the bubbling electronic of duoduo or the space jazz of Quiet Tree.
“Marc Méan’s solo project is all-expansive environments, and fully-realized worlds to explore and get lost in. Although the sounds he uses are largely electronic, the feeling is organic, with lush arrangements that breathe and breaststroke their way gracefully through the open air. Marc Méan’s tracks are very immersive, a landscape to wallow in and explore rather than a road to run down. The two sides complement each other like journey and destination. Together, they make one hell of a trip.”
État Des Choses will be curating an auditive journey for your visit at the silo. An eclectic spiritual rollercoaster will be provided to you by two emerging Swiss artists, welcoming you into their inner selves through sound.
Travel from a celestial and ethereal land by the multi-instrumentalist Milyma to the dark and destructive universe made with distress by Schadya.
A trillion Rah Sunns, Leoni Leoni, Under Changeover
TRNSTN RADIO is curating special electronic performances for BLUEHOUR project. As the sun goes down, sounds will emerge from the lighthouse of Fribourg. You will be able to discover the sonic identities of the three live performers bringing their personal sound explorations to your ears & hearts. Going from ambient, to psyché pop and passing by electro, minimal and avant-garde; A Trillion Rah Sunns, Leoni Leoni & Under Changeover invites you to forget that time flies, and brings you in a lethargic listening session for a smooth and gentle Friday letting go.
Nothing and too much, Performative Session
Friart presents an evening of short interventions by artists that have in common an excessive, absurd or irritating dimension.
Between nothing and too much, the separation between audience and performance is in trouble.
SMEM Friends Modular Jam
SMEM friends are reuniting themselves to present their first modular synths jam session, at the top of the old silo tower of cardinal’s old factory, where the museum & playroom is also located at.
Discover a variety of musicians invited by the museum, who’ll handle synthesizers together to create a unique collaborative musical session.
With our partner EikonLab, we have the opportunity to archive & document each event which takes place during Blue Hour. You’ll find here archives, video and photos taken by eikon’s students.
